Lighting
Lighting is one of the largest users of energy in the classroom. By turning out the lights when a classroom is unoccupied, the school can save money. The school is planning to invest in "occupancy sensors" so that the lights turn off automatically if no one is in the room. This way can help towards reducing the large amount of energy being used for lighting at school every day. All old lights have been replaced by using energy efficiency globes, such as fluorescent bulbs to save more energy.
Close the Doors
Leaving doors wide open to a room or building may make it more inviting to come in, but it wastes energy. When the doors are open, people may think there will be someone using that room and leave all the lights switched on. The cool air may escape from the room if air-conditioners are on as well. Therefore, don't leave doors open but keep them closed after people walk through the doorway.
